Welcome back to The City Blog! Stories of Lives Changed is a series highlighting the tangible power of God within our church family. God is moving in a mighty way and we want to share it with the world… one story at a time.

“The Power of God Transforms!”- Pastor AD3

Melissa Bennett

“Seeing so many young adults on fire for God really gave me the push I needed to develop a stronger relationship with him myself.”

“So my family raised me Catholic and it was about the age of 19 or 20 when I realize the Catholic church was not for me. I began going to different baptist and non denominational churches to find a home. My best friend Tamara who is a member at COTC as well invited me to visit her church one day. She seemed very happy with her experience so I figured I would give it a try.

I began coming to City of Truth church about 3.5 years ago. Once becoming a member of COTC, the first thing I noticed was how it was primarily full of young people excited for the Lord. So often I had attended churches that were full of Elders but hardly anyone my age. Seeing so many young adults on fire for God really gave me the push I needed to develop a stronger relationship with him myself. I pray more than I ever have before now and I’m more conscience of my actions and my decisions on a daily basis. I feel more empowered to be different from the societal norm and I am no longer worried about my Christianity making me look “”lame”” to those that do not follow God. I love all the new people that I have met and it’s really great to have made more Christian friends. This is the first church that has ever gotten me outside of myself enough to serve and I’m very thankful for this opportunity. I don’t know where I would be without this church and I am very thankful for the best Pastor and First Lady in the world!”

“I truly feel I’m getting to a place where I don’t just ask God what He can do for me, but I want to know what I can do for Him and His kingdom.”

“I am experiencing a deeper connection and a stronger relationship with God. Lately, I have been asking God to work on my relationship with Him to provide me with a better relationship with those around me. I’m becoming more intentional with my quiet and devotion time with God. I truly feel I’m getting to a place where I don’t just ask God what He can do for me, but I want to know what I can do for Him and His kingdom.”

“Its never really about you. its about whats in you!” – Pastor AD3

Then Moses said to him, “If your Presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here. How will anyone know that you are pleased with me and with your people unless you go with us? What else will distinguish me and your people from all the other people on the face of the earth?”And the Lord said to Moses, “I will do the very thing you have asked, because I am pleased with you and I know you by name.” Then Moses said, “Now show me your glory.” Exodus 33:15-18 New International Version (NIV)
