One thing I have learned about life is that it doesn’t care who you are, where you’re going, or where you’ve come from, it will throw all types of obstacles your way. Even Jesus himself promised that in this world we will have trouble (John 16:33). I must admit this can be discouraging. Especially, if it seems as if something is always coming to knock you off course.
Nevertheless, instead of sulking and giving in to the natural tendency to feel sorry for yourself, you must be just as determined as the discouragement you’re facing. No, determination doesn’t come easily. It takes effort and dedication. The good news is, though, you don’t have to do it on your own. Jesus says that he has overcome the world. This means whatever life brings has already submitted to the power and authority of Jesus—you just have to realize it.
Realize it meaning you understand that no weapon, no distraction, no trial or test formed against you shall succeed (Isaiah 54:17). It is believing by faith that greater is he who is in you than anything in this world (1 John 4:4). It is you declaring God’s Word that what he began in you he will accomplish and complete it (Philippians 1:6).
Once you begin to change your mind about these guaranteed obstacles you can begin to view them as nothing more than hurdles you can jump over to reach your finish line.
So, what is it that life is throwing your way? What excuses are you allowing yourself to make? What lies are you believing about yourself or your situation that you need to combat with the truth of God’s Word?
I believe that no matter what comes against you, with consistency, discipline and determination you can overcome any obstacle and complete what you began like a boss!
Keep at it. Be encouraged. I’m praying for you.
